Research Interests
- Theoretical simulations of the excited state properties of linear polyenes, biological chromophores, and retinylidene proteins in combination with spectroscopic analyses.
- Design and development of novel biophotonic devices, including protein-based retinal implants, holographic associative processors, three-dimensional optical memories, and photovoltaic cells.
- Biophysical characterization of photoactive proteins using time-resolved absorption spectroscopy, FT-IR difference spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry.
